>when they fry at the cord connection just buy a cheap extension cord at home depot and wire it in. happened to three of mine so far.

>The reason The Coard is failing is because you do not get a good ground if you do not turn the cord conecter to the detent.make shure it is locked to the detent turing clockwise.

>no, this is not the reason for the failure. we always make sure we lock in the power cord when changing sanders, and in fact with two vacs the six inch that fried this time was rarely disconnected.

I believe the electrical connection at the sander is not fully made when locked in allowing for corrosion of the contacts leading to resistance, and thus heat dissapation at this point.
