What Books on Spray Finishing?

>What books do you recommend for spray finishing? I'm considering a HVLP system.
I have several books on general finishing, but I need something that focuses on spray finishing.
Thanks,

>I have Any Charron's "Spray Finishing" book. It's been a while since I've looked at it, but I remember it being pretty good. IIRC, there's a pretty good section on how to properly adjust your gun and another that shows pictures of common spray finishing problems along with discussion on how to fix them.
I'm also tempted to buy Michael Dresdner's "Spray Basics" or "Wood Finishing Basics" video from Taunton. I was really impressed with his "Wood Finishing Fixes" book and saw a preview of one of his spray finishing videos that looked quite promising...

>Hoa,
Taunton has a book entitled "Spray Finishing" by Andy Charron. I haven't read it so can't recommend it. If you find a good one, please let us know.
TIA,
Merle

>Check out "Complete Illustrated Guide To Finishing" By Jeff Jewitt. It's a great book.

>Between Andy Charons book and Dredsners DVD, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on things when I started spraying. Later I went to a WW show and saw a demo at the Apollo booth that was pretty good to reinforce I was doing things right. All the above sources are a little weak when it comes to spraying water based, but the Target site has (or had) a very thorough manual for spraying WB, which could also be a good manual for spraying in general.

>Doh! How could I forget about Jerry Work's excellent, and free, manual from the Target Coatings website? Definitely a "must read"! It also contains a nice real-world review of some of the HVLP equipment available...
Taget Coating's User Manual
Great spray finishing manual!

>Wow. I had heard that Gerry's spray finishing manual on the Target Coatings site was good, and finally got around to reading it.
At 49 pages, this is the most comprehensive reviews of finish types (heavily weighted on Target Coatings, of course), spray guns, spray techniques, final rub-out, and troubleshooting that I've seen. I had expected a short, quick sales pitch. This "manual" has more spray finishing info than any finishing book I've read.

>Over the weekend I dropped by my friendly used bookstore (Half-Price in Fremont) and found a new copy of Finishes & Finishing Techniques by Fine Woodworking Editors. There is a section in finish spraying that includes some articles by Andy Charron.
The manual by Jerry Work is extremely valuable, not only on spraying but on other aspects of finishing as well.
I think I have enough for now. I'll probably get the DVD later after I receive the sprayer.
Thanks all,
