OT: Interesting birthday day

Rod Peterson -- Ormond Beach

>All these fine folks (some more famous than others) were born on 26 January in various years:

1970 Kirk Franklin

1961Wayne Gretzky (the Great One—besides Jackie Gleason, that is)

1958 Anita Baker

1958 Ellen DeGeneres

1955 Eddie Van Halen (the former Mr. Valerie Bertinelli)

1953 Lucinda Williams

1946 Gene Siskel (of “two thumbs up” fame and closest to me in age)

1944 Angela Davis

1942 Scott Glenn (played Alan Shepard in The Right Stuff)

1935 Bob Uecker (“Juuusssstttt a bit outside”)

1929 Jules Feiffer (fair cartoonist)

1925 Paul Newman (“I can eat 50 eggs” or “Who are those guys?”)

1923 Anne Jeffreys (played ghost host on Topper—for those of you over 55 or so)

1880 Douglas MacArthur (“I shall return”; not in the Shirley MacLaine sense)

Anyone else? Ummm, no, guess not.

So I guess it's your birthday?

Jason Roehl in Mulberry, IN

>If so, have a happy one. Aren't you getting close to starting your seventh decade? Or is disclosing age or hints of it one of your pet peeves? (I couldn't resist, for some reason they've come up quite a few times in the last week or so--I share many of them, and I'm still not middle-aged.)

Whaaa? Why, I never…

>> Aren't you getting close to starting your seventh decade?

I'm a year into it (or just starting, depending on how you count the zero'th year).

Rod

P.S. The major clue was in the OP (see Siskel).

No, you're not missing any...

Mark Goodall - ATL - tooljunkie

>To be sure, I looked up on the internet and found that exact same list of people born today...... so, no, you didn't miss anyone, you list is complete.

Oh, wait a minute.... were YOU born today. That would make it...... err.... hey! Happy Birthday!

Like I tell my wife: "Honey, if you want something, TELL me.... I'm too dumb for hints!"

Happy Woodworking!

Okay...

>I just was making sure I wasn't thinking of your ninth cousin (wink).

I caught the Siskel clue, I was think in terms of being within a year or two of him, not within a few hours on the same day.

BTW, did we start the new millenium on 1/1/00 or 1/1/01?

I just hope people don't think you're 70 now.

OK I can't wait to post mine in August

>It's a very important day in the birth/death of rock music. Think Elvis and Madonna. I also share a birthday with both Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford. How cool is that?

>A day late, but happy birthday.

All your pet peeve posts of late had me wander by your site again. I am also a member of the "abused minority". Imagine using your middle name plus having both a period and space in your last name. Both my first and last names get butchered in computer systems. I've come to accept Stpeter as proper computer spelling of my last name. I'm in computer systems for spellings from "Mjay St" to "Michaeljay Peter". I have a deans list certificate from college that says "Michael Jay Street Peter".

Happy (belated) Birthday, pardner! Like Don, I've enjoyed your posts both here and on the The Pond and hope you continue to post (and I continue to read 'em) for many, many, healthy and happy years to come.
