Questions for Mike Fitterling & Ellis/Drawing.

Barry Irby

>Mike, I want to make a drawing fo the bed bolt detail. How did you do the ones of the Planer/Cutterhead/snipe setup you did down below?

Ellis, Your drawing was hand done, but wtih computer labeling. How did you do that and how did you post it?

Anybody got an easy way to make drawings and post them?

Here's what I did

>I drew the schematic for the bed bolt freehand on a Post-It note. Then I scanned it, opened it in my image processing program, and added arrows and captions as needed. I saved the file as a GIF and browsed to it when posting my reply.

>I did the drawing making basic shapes in Adobe Illustrator, the program I use when doing map illustrations in our books. If I can help with your drawing just let me know.

>Might be worth finding a cheap or free CAD program. Very handy for all sorts of shop activities (templates, layouts, etc.). There are several out there that are pretty good and fairly easy to use.
