Delta 12-1/2" planer dust hood question *LINK*

John Weber - GO BUCKS!

>Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the dust hood connector for the Delta 12.5" planer. There is a kit 50-359, and it shows 2 pieces, but I only have a hood with the hose adapter, but not the inner piece. Trouble is I don't have a planer to check. So is the kit one piece, or two. I wasn't sure if the inner piece they show is what comes standard on the planer.

Thanks - John

>The inner piece is the standard dust chute already on the planer from what I can see. I guess they pulled it out of the machine to show how the dust hood attaches to it.

Have the planer but not the hood

>John,

It appears you're confused? You wrote "12-1/2" planer" and "12.5" planer" but, the link is to a 12" planer dust hood.

50-359 is the dust hood for Delta's 12" planer.

The dust hood for Delta's 12 1/2" planer is 50-445.

>I purchased a hood from Max Young (shop shot #446 NEW SPIN FOR SAW CABINETS) and he shows it pretty good. You need to modify the stock shield but sounds like maybe yours is missing. You will have to start with that.
