Irregardless of the

Bruce, a MN Galoot

>literally infinite number of times you've seen "walla", it's actually "wallah," which I've see "alot" as well.

Infinity isn't as tough a number as you'd think. I once saw an article about pasta in which the writer stated "there are a literally infinite number of varieties of pasta. Some estimates go as high as 115." There you have it. Physicists and mathematicians have been struggling too long with this concept. Infinity = 115.

So there.

Where did the malt go to?

Steve Schoene

>Well, I agree that vanilla with chocolate syrup was the standard. BUT, I always used to ask for a chocolate shake to be made with chocolate ice cream as a special order. No, actually I used to ask for a chocolate MALT to be made with chocolate ice cream.

Re: Coach said to leave the malt powder alone.

Al Crandall (N.E. of Indy)

>My wrestling coach in high school told the team that if any of us thought we could maintain weight class and still have ice cream that we should forego the malt powder and just drink milk shakes. He said malt powder increased your heart rate and lessened your endurance. It's been 40+ years since I've had a malt.

Doncha jus' luv it

Robert Hutchins

>when someone posing as an expert starts a sentence: " There are a . . ."

There may be in some language unknown to my tongue; but in the English I know and love, there are numbers uncounted who write well, and their number multiplied who confuse numbers and tenses of verbs. The article "a" signifies a single one - which "is" but never "are".

No wonder your head hurts, Rod.

Voil !

>Yeah, Rod. What's the deal with omitting the accent mark over the "a" in voil? ;-)

Could've been worse, I suppose. I've seen it spelled "wahla".

Re: And what about the extra???

Lowell Kinzer

>The Boll Weevil restaurant chain here in San Diego county still serves 'em up that way. Or they'll serve it in two glasses if you ask, with whipped cream and maraschino cherry on each one.

Cheers,

Lowell
