Acclimatizing lumber in/or out of the shop?

Bri in Mtl

>Like a lot of other folks I only heat the garage shop when I'm working in it. Mine doesn't go below freezing though. I also don't do glueups when the wood is below 50F.

What's the right thing to do with project wood before and during the construction? Obviously I'm concerned with the wood warping once brought into it's final enviroment.

Keep bringing it back into the house when I'm not in the shop?

Does it really matter?

>Brian,

We need more information: What the MC of your lumber? What's the average RH in your shop?

I put air dried wood up in the lumber loft once it's below 10%, my shop during the winter rarely get above 50% RH. A few days ago when the shop was heated, it got as low as 20% RH. Last night the heated shop was 30%; outside temps have warmed up a little.
