OT - IE Bookmark file location

I'm trying to find the file name, extension and location of my Internet Explorer bookmark (favorites) file. Computer is running on XP if that helps.

Also, same questions for my "contact" list for Outlook Express.

Would one of our computer-literate folks please tell me what/where again for probably the 6th time?

Thanks,

~Dave

I don't know for sure about the contact list, but this is where your email folder is kept.

Outlook

C:\Documents and Settings\your user id\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Outlook Express

But Outlook Express doesn't store everything in one huge file like Outlook does. It stores it in a whole bunch of .asx (and other files).

To find your anything:

START > Search > (look in C: and amke sure it's set to look in hidden files)

Favorites = search for favorites

Outlook = search for *.pst

Outlook Express = search for Outlook Express (and you'll find a messy folder) which is useless

Windows Address book (used by Outlook Express) = seach for *.wab

Outlook and Outlook Express have the ability to import/export mail and address information, sometime automatically sometimes manually, depending on versions etc. But I could spend an hour explaining all the different ways.
