If so...what type of wood would (wood would..funny) you recommend?
Lastly, what source would you use to find the peppermill parts?

Any wood would work just fine. W used mahogany last night, but will be turning more from cherry and maple for the next ones.
The parts can be picked up at Woodcraft, Rockler, Penn State, etc.
