>IF we are depleating the Ozone layers areund the earth how come on the news at night I see the primary polutant as Ozone? If it is at ground level is it unable to make it up to the layer where it should be? Just wondering?

The ozone that we make is considered a pollutant if it gets above 0.08 ppm, or a little less than 1% of the concentration of the "good" ozone layer.

So if we were to make enough ozone here at ground level to diffuse up to the stratosphere 10-130 miles above our head to maintain that 8-12 ppm, it would probably kill all of us in the process. Which is too bad -- I'm sure we'd love to be able to say, "Save the planet -- drive an SUV!"
