>A couple of days ago I posted on another forum that I had finally gotten around to creating a Web Log for my Expanding Round Table. I didnt think it was going to be so popular, but within a few hours, the blog had several hundred hits, and most readers read through all of the pages. This is way more traffic than I expected in such a short time.

Since I just finished the next installment, I figured I would post its announcement here on WoodCentral instead.

Ive mentioned this table a few times in other postings for various reasons, and every time I have mentioned it, someone asks to see more. So I decided to create a Web Log for its ongoing construction. Even though I have written this geared toward woodworkers, the main reason for taking the time to create this is so my client, across the country, can see the photographs of the progress.

One of the aspects that you might find the most interesting is the extensive use of the Festool Domino Tenon Joiner that I am using. When I originally designed the table, I hadnt planned on using Domino so much, but the more I get into the project, the more valuable it has become.

I placed the Intro to the Blog on the main frame of my webpage. Here is a teaser picture of the table concept design:

Wonderful blog and description

>I am so happy to see some of these techniques recorded and made available (freely even!). Our culture has made too many things "proprietary" and locked away knowledge. The trouble is, then, that no one can learn how to do it. It's great to see how a large project like this is made, and some of the challenges are overcome. With your record of the production, it won't be lost now.

My thanks for the great job!

>As I mentioned last week, I am creating a Web Log for the contruction of an expanding round dining room table similar to a Robert Jupe table. I wouldn't be posting these update announcements on the forum except I am still surprised by how many people are keeping up with the progress on this project.

I'm almost caught up with the Web Log versus the actual work progress on the table. I've uploaded the 7th page to the blog, and this discusses making the wedge-shaped pieces that make up the primary table top.

The blog starts on my home page and clicking on that link will bring you to the page index.
