small alder tree

>Hi all,

I have a small (maybe 8" diameter), relatively straight alder tree (I'm guessing red alder) that needs to be removed. Is it worth trying to get anything out of it? Perhaps a turning blank to encourage putting an idle mini-lathe to use? TIA.

Best regards,

Mike
