Anyone buy a Compucarve or a Carvewright?

>Anyone buy a Compucarve or a Carvewright? For some reason, this gadget (same gadget except for stickers) has a powerful attraction for me. If equipped with the probe one can scan in profiles of carvings and other solid objects and duplicate them, mirror the etc.

The old family piano has a number of carvings damaged and missing thanks to five generations of kids. I'd like to replace them and as a second ot third project, I think this CNC carving router could do it.

Think of it as a Grindinger in a box (are you reading this Lee).

I'd like to poll you with experience with this gadget.

So Mr spock. Comment? Analysis?
