Bessey clamp storage

Hub in Ontario

>I was looking at another person's post about how many clamps it took to do a glue-up and I was left wondering about how people store this many clamps. I have 25 or 30 Bessey K-Body clamps and I have a make shift rack hanging from my rafter holding them parrallel to the wall. There must be a better, more space effecient way to store these. Any suggestions.

Thanks

>Nothing wrong with that. It's pretty much what I did except I kicked the bottoms out a bit to lessen the chance of their falling for whatever reason.

Weigh space taken against accessability.

If they're not along the wall they'd have to hang on something projecting out from the wall. Sorta like hammers displayed at the hardware store. Then you'd gain wall space and trade it for projection into the room.

>HUb,

Nothing wrong with what you did. If it works, don't worry about it.

Here's what I did at one point, based on a ShopNotes article.

>That's very nice and looks a little more secure than mine. Apparently I don't have as many clamps as some of you. When is the next Lee Valley sale on these anyway?

Thanks for your post

>Short of turning them sideways and coming out into the room a bit, which I will likely do on my next bessy rack I make, I went 2 tiers on this one and should have gone another 2 clamps wide so the KP blocks would fit properly. This rack allows you to use the space between the clamps.

Cabinet masters are a bit wider than the Bessy's or you could tighten up the spacing a bit more.

>JD,

I really like that one. Looks like they're attached to a board with a Rockler T-Track embedded in it. Is that correct? Any chance of a close-up pic of one of the blocks that holds up the clamps?

Thanks!

Keith

>When a local home center closed I picked up this storage rack for $10. It is normally used to store/display angle iron and threaded rod. But it has made a great clamp rack. It rotates and I put wheels on it.

>I made this last summer (and posted about it, too). There are about another half dozen K-bodies and several other Tradesmans that weren't on it for the pic. I still need to put some auxiliary webbing inside for various other clamps. I like it a lot.

>Another New Yankee Workshop style one here. Unfortunately, I have nowhere near enough clamps to fill it (yet). In fact, the entire back side is used for storing jigs.
