Another Bench Dog Lost

Ron Hildreth, Alta, Iowa

>Seems several of us have lost a four-legged shop buddy recently. Our 11 yr old Terrior "Lady" ("Bug" for short) succumbed to a nearly 8 month battle with congestive heart failure this morning at 6AM, in my arms. NOT been a good day at all, and with the cold and glummy weather, seems to have made it that much worse.

Photo of her below is one taken several years ago, sleeping in my easy-chair, and in much better health. She'll be sorely missed........

>I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! My heart goes out to you. She looked like a real cutie pie. I bet she had a great personality.

As I type this, my dog is Boris is sleeping at my feet. I read your post and gave him a scratch behind the ears.

>Hi Ron,

I am sorry for your loss, Bug sure looks like she was an angel in this life...be blessed to have shared this special time with her.

My pup turned 12 yesterday......they give so much and ask for so little.

Peace,

>It is always shocking how heavy your heart gets when you lose a dog. Their unconditional love simply hurts to lose...

I had to put our 4yr old Austrialian Shepherd down this past December, due to a blood disorder. I was all worried about how my 4yr old daught would take it (she was born 2 months before he was)...and it turned out dad(me) was the one that had the heaviest heart~

Always remember the good times!

>Keep saying to yourself "To have loved and lost is better than not to have loved at all". There is just nothing like the unconditional love of a dog, is there? She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Joanna--The poem "Rainbow Bridge" is probably one of the prettiest poems I had ever read. Thank you for reminding me of it!!

>Ron,

Very saddened this morning to read that you lost your beloved shop dog "Bug". Even the act of passing on is done in such a noble way by our four-legged friends. I'm glad you hung-in there with her right to the end; she would have done the same for you - anytime.
