Bosch Jigsaw -mini review

Bri in Mtl

>I got the top handled 1590 one for Xmas and instead of cutting out the shape of my current rocker back legs on my bandsaw I thought I'd try the jigsaw.

Jeez, where has this tool been all my life!! Smooooth baby. No wonder it has so many great reviews. At first I thought the length of the blade throw(?) was kind of short compared to my Skil jigsaw but after using it I see it doesn't matter.

I even tried cutting a piece of 2" thick scrap that the blade wasn't long enough to go completely through. The saw just kept on going, making plunge cuts in the wood, albeit slower going.

One weird thing is one of the 3 blades, the T144DP (precision wood)wouldn't fit in. I fiddled around trying to get it to fit and finally gave up. The other 2 blades I tried the T244D speed wood and it went right in and so did the T123X metal blade. Like to know if anyone else had this problem.

>You might give Festool blades a try as well. I use them in mine, especially the extra long ones.

Tis a great jigsaw. I've used mine hard for a few years.

Thanks for the review--Mike
