What finish for colorful woods?

>I have a bowl made from Red Mallee, I'm trying to find what finish to use that will not dull the bright red color, any ideas are appreciated. Also, I dont have a buffer.

>if the colour of that wood bleaches out in the sun, you shoule use shellac because it is the only finish that will block UV rays.

>Thank you Malcolm, I really have no idea of it will bleach or not. It is just fairly bright in color and I want don't want to dull it any like so many oil finish's will do.

I'll try a scrap piece with shelac and see how it goes.
