>For all practical purposes Shop Fox is a Polar Bear (i.e. a White Grizzly) sold thru retailers rather than direct.

>Shop Fox tools are often/mostly the same as the apparent Grizzly equivalent. They may be the same tool except for the paint color (the G0490/W1741 and 1023SL/W1677 probably fall into this class), or they may be nearly the same, but with a few minor upgrades.
However, sometimes the Shop Fox tool doesn't have a Grizzly sibling, as with the W1707 bandsaw. It is similar to the G0513X, and you might be tempted to think they are the same basic saw outfitted a bit differently. However, these machines are manufactured in different factories, according to Mr. Balolia, so they're probably cousins at best. Both nice saws, though.

>The SF line has dealer support and twice the warranty. Since they're often price competitive with each other, I wonder why I hear so much more about Grizzly and so little about SF. I'd much rather buy a nearly identical machine for a similar price from a dealer...I'd even pay a little premium for that service. Seems like a no brainer to me.

>In my experience the ShopFox dealer network is limited in size. Grizzly advertises heavy and has three distribution points in the US. Those are the reasons I think that people tend to buy Grizzly rather than ShopFox.
