Thanks Groucho - my WC year (long)

Mike Hamilton

>Im fortunate to start the year with a week off and even more fortunate to have arranged play time with some WCers to kick-start the year right. Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Duane Leach turning. Today it was making hook tools and eating patty melts with Al Crandall and Ray Thompson.

I stopped for just a moment to consider a few (only a few) of my WC contacts in 2006:

Turning lesson with Jennifer Shirley

Bill Grumbine agreeing to be an emergency contact for my away-from-home daughter

Sharpening a saw with Moses Yoders tools and tutelage and Warren-in-Lancasters oversight

Sharpening plane blades with Bob ??? (crs sets in here)

The whole 5-Barns experience

Sharing dining tables with Bill Turpin, Mark Mandell and Ed Moore at various times in Louisville

Watching turning by Terry Quillam, Keith Zimmerman, Jim Shaver,.

Selling a plane to Dan Donaldson

Listening to Dan and Ellis play around the campfire at Indyfest

The whole Indyfest experience

With the exception of Jen, this quick list is entirely folks Id never met before. They were trusting, helpful, and friendly immediately partly by nature, partly due to the common bond.

You build family here Ellis, and I couldnt be happier to belong.

Thanks,

Mike Hamilton

Wow, missed this last night

Amazing, isn't it, how many connections a website makes over time? I know just what you mean and I couldn't be happier that you and the others have tapped into that communal vein of energy and inspiration -- oh yes, and indelible friendships. That's what it's all about for me and apparently for many others.

Onward and upward. Thanks for the kudos.
