Cabinet Tv to Flat screen

Rex

>I have a customer who wants me to reuse the cabinet from a 40 year old tv and install a flat screen. The measurements work out pretty well and I have a decent plan for a mounting bracket inside the case so the new tv will sit flush with the opening. I am curious if anyone has experience doing this type of conversion and can give any suggestions or advice on what may be coming up. Its been too long since I have been at this board, nice to see Ellis still has the place running smoothly.

>We did the same thing with an old console TV. Installed a new plywood back for the mounting bracket, then painted everything inside flat black. New flat panel TV seems to "float" in the opening. Works great, but pay attention to cable routing and access.
