glue

I want to make a set of wine glasses. I would like to use the glass tops sold by Craft Supplies and turn the stems from Cocobolo. The problem is that I will have to glue the coco to glass. Ant suggestions on the glue to use? Will the new polyurethane glues such as Gorilla glue work?

Can it be done?

Re: glue

To glue wood to glass I'd suggest trying a jeweler's crystal epoxy. Obviously no problem getting wood to adhere but you'll need something special to get a good bond on the glass.

Also, RTV 66 sticks great and won't break loose on both wood and glass. This is the silicon stuff they use to seal aquariums.

Gorilla vs. Polyurethane

What is the difference between Gorilla glue and the cheaper polyurethane glues such as PL? As far as I can tell, they behave the same way and the ingredient list seems the same, yet the Gorilla stuff is far more expensive.

Sorry I don't have an answer to the glass-to-wood question other than to check "This to That."
