Milling Walnut from Acreage
I was just thinking where my enthusiasm for wood working has taken me. First, after we moved into the new house I had to build the wood shop. Then after choking on all of the saw dust, I decided to add a building on the North side of the existing shop to house the dust collection system.
Then I got a change to cut Walnut from a Walnut orchard. In milling the logs at the local wood shop class at the high school I realized I needed a wood mill which I will get Oct.1 st.
My wife is already complaining about the size the wood shop has become and this weekend I am adding another building to the South side that will be a Solar Kiln to dry the wood I cut on the wood mill to use in my wood shop with the dust collection system.
I fear if I need to expand further, my wife will loose her vegetable garden. But I have been given strict instruction not to build there.
I guess with all of the destruction in New York I feel compelled to build something new. To create something when there was nothing there, from the dirt up.
I hope my wife understands when her vegetable garden disappears.
