A fresh new look

WoodCentral.com gets a major upgrade

WoodCentral.com, one of the leading online communities for woodworkers, has just undergone a massive overhaul. The website now boasts a sleek, modern design that is fully responsive across all devices – from desktops to tablets and smartphones.

One of the standout features of the new WoodCentral.com is its perfect PageRank score of 100 across all pages. This is an incredibly rare achievement that speaks to the site’s technical optimization and high authority in the woodworking space.[1]

The forums have also been revamped with state-of-the-art technology, making them blazing fast and incredibly powerful. Many are already calling WoodCentral’s forums the best available for woodworking discussions and advice.

But perhaps the most exciting addition is Woody Barker, WoodCentral’s new AI assistant. Woody is a friendly, knowledgeable AI that can answer questions, provide tips, and generally assist woodworkers of all skill levels. Just ask Woody about anything woodworking related, and it will provide helpful guidance.[2]

With its modern design, perfect technical scores, super-fast forums, and capable AI assistant, WoodCentral.com is now better positioned than ever to serve the woodworking community. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, the new WoodCentral is a must-visit resource.

  1. I really do not care for the new format. My interest in Wood Central has always been the discussion forums. One thing I especially dislike is the moving headlines banner.

    • Thanks for the feedback, Johanna. I also disliked the moving headlines and figured out how they could be disabled. Re the forum, there is a “Latest Discussions” hot button near the top-right of the page that goes directly to the latest active forum topics.

The About page looks very similar to the old front page if you like that. We are finally getting new visitors from search engines, and those visiting the old front page were just “bouncing” (closing the page without exploring anything). This dynamic format is supposed to encourage them to stick around and explore all the different sections of the site.

    • All the applications making up the site quit sending emails. We are trying to figure out what happened. It appears to be something outside our code, as that hasn’t changed, but is related to how SSL/TLS and STARTTLS are used to encrypt emails. So far, no one has been able to isolate exactly what the problem is.

  3. There is no easy way to connect to the Forums. Connecting to WC you get the home page. ehere is the Index shiwing Firums? If one has to search for more than a second or two, then it us a fail.

    • There are links to the forums in both of the drop-down menus at the top. Also added a link on all the WordPress pages along with a graphic in the sidebar.

  4. Switched to a simpler homepage theme that uses a legacy WordPress format with which most should be familiar. It’s clean, fast, and works great on mobile devices.
