It been a long while since I have been on wood central. I still see a lot of families names. Anyhow I need some help regarding how to dimension a drawer. I have two projects going on simultaneously. A dresser and a bench top tool chest. For both I finished the cabinets and drawer dividers. For both projects, the drawers will simply slide in and put of the cabinet. There are no drawer slides or runners underneath the drawers. Making up numbers here, but if drawer opening is 24" x 5", what should the drawer dimension be? Obviously a 24x5 size will not fit. Will knocking of 1/8 on each dimension work? Any rule of thumb rules for this?
