In older homes with knotty pine kitchens, you can see the nail holes filled with Plastic wood. And they're more obvious than if they weren't filled because the filler doesn't brown under the shellac like the wood does.
What kind of Plastic Wood or similar would have the fill under shellac less visible?

#2Paste made from mix of sanding sawdust from the cabinets and glue or finish. The mix will be darker than the original wood to start. Shellac may dry too fast to use in larger batches.
