>I finally tried out my new Stihl 361 today. I bought it about a month ago, but the total run-time since I bought it was probably less than 5 minutes.......... until today, that is. I used it, not to cut bowl blanks, but to trim back a Red Maple tree that was blocking my satellite signal. The new saw performed wonderfully. It has plenty of power and cut through 8" tree limbs like they were made of butter. I can hardly wait to try it on some bowl blanks.
361 vs 440/460

>My dad has a 361 and its an awesome saw - seems like the perfect size for the size of wood I like to turn (17-20 inch stuff), although, I'm considering getting the 460 as it has 20% more power and weighs a coupla pounds more IF it would cut 20% faster :). I find I spend almost as much time prepping the wood to turn, as I do turning and I'm looking spend a lot less time with a saw in my hand. I wonder if there would be enough time benefit to justify the added weight/expense?
