Making a high speed run to Southern CA

Dave Smith, Longview, WA

>My wife will be working all day so I can pack some wood in the truck if there is a chance I will get to see any woodworkers. Heading to Hesperia for my grand daughter's graduation Friday evening. Leaving this evening to miss Portland traffic and will spend the night in Springfield, OR to play with a couple grand children. Heading down I-5 then through Bakersfield on the way to Hesperia. Plan to be in Hesperia Thursday afternoon and probably leave Sunday morning.

If any body along the way wants to trade turning wood or buy some let me know. Also can meet for lunch or dinner if it works out. I will have internet access along the way so send an email if something can be worked out.

Dave Smith

Have cell phone will travel in Longview, WA.

>Hey Dave,

I am in East LA right off I-5. If you're passing through on Sunday that way I have some large pieces of Carob I would trade for some nice green maple or myrtle. Drop me an email if you'll be through my area.

Keep in touch

Dave Smith, Longview, WA

>Hi Ruth,

Forty miles is an average traffic back up down there in the land of fruits and nuts. Send me an email so I know where I would have to drive. We plan to go over Tehachapi pass and go in the back door to avoid half the cars in the US.

I have some fresh flowering plum, American elm and some year old bigleaf maple that is still wet. Some interesting vine maple and a little cascara, holly, apple, wild cherry, and couple other things. I have enough pen blanks to chock a horse. I have never turned pepper tree or camphor. We are a little short of palm trees around here also. I got enough OO and mulberry.

Better start loading wood before the Admiral gets home in Longview, WA.

>Dave, I will drive to where ever is convenient for you, you will have done enough driving just getting down here! I don't know the area at all so you could find a place when you get down here and just email me with a day's notice.

>Just got done packing a bunch of wood.

Hope there are some more takers. If some of you turners don't have wood I'll trade wood for money also.

Yard is mowed, dust collector bag is empty, tools are unplugged, and the dehumidifier is empty. I think I am almost ready to hitch up Babe the Blue Ox and head South.

Dave Smith

Fueled up and ready to go in Longview, WA.

>Dave, I live in Bakersfield and have bought wood from you before. When will you be passing through Bakersfield on your return? I am not available for your inward leg, but will be okay for later. Please let me know and we can work out a meeting place.
