Invitation to lathe manufacturers

Terry Daniel

>We are going to give all lathe manufacturers an opportunity to talk directly with the users or potential users of their lathes. I have been in discussions with some new lathe manufacturers about allowing them to discuss needs, wants, etc with users and I feel an obligation to extend the same space to established manufacturers. If you are a manufacturer and would like to discuss your product and service with users please contact me so I can schedule a Wednesday night chat session with you. This will be done with only one manufacturer per chat night. Please forward this notification to your favorite manufacturer.

Thanks

TD

I didn't even know there WERE any new lathe manufacturers in the offing. I'd love to hear more details.

Yep

Terry Daniel

>There is an all new lathe at the upper end pricewise and some new mods on existing machines. Some of these will be unveiled at the AAW show shortly. We'll give you a little preview of what will be there, lathewise.

>I heard Craft Supplies USA is supposed to sell this in the US. It's called Beaver and it's a Taiwan lathe designed by Vicmarc and is very similar to the VL175 but at about 1/2 the price.

Sorry about the big pictures but my computer is not well and I'm linking from my site.

Lets have some standard lathes, too

Brad Vietje

>In addition to featuring the new and high-end lathes, we might best serve the needs of our group by including a number of the more common lathe manufacturers out there like Jet/Powermatic, Vicmarc, Poolewood, Vega, General, Delta, etc...

All are welcome

Terry Daniel

>Each company is welcome to spend an hour doing a chat. I have 06/15 and 06/29 booked but the other dates are available. I am not going to contact all the manufacturers but if any of you wish to contact your lathe company and let me know we will assign them a date. All types of lathes are included.
