>Would someone tell me about this finishing product? How does it work and what sort of finish is the result. Does it harden in the wood?

How long does it take to dry? Thanks.

>I use it for ustility items like salad bowls, honey servers, etc. I found it to be the best walnut oil after comparing it to a few. Walnut is the only vegetable oil that hardens so your answer would be yes. It takes 1-2 days to dry here in Israel and has been noted to take a week or two in cold/humid climate. I sand my piece up to 320 or 400 and apply liberaly. wait about 15 minutes and wipe of the excess and let dry. I cut back with 0000 steel wool and apply another coat or two. You can finish up by either using a paste wax such as Mahoneys, Mylands, or Briwax. It will also work with the Beal buffing system but if I used that, I would have applied a more durable finish.

>I like it because it doesn't seen to be as dark as most other oils. It takes 3 days to a week to dry for me. I'm in Ohio so it's more humid here than in Israel where Ron is.

>That is interesting, because I dislike like it because it is so bright yellow compared to other oils I typically use.

That doesn't mean I don't use it, but I restrict its use to darker woods. That stuff is really, really yellow!

I do use it a lot, in fact I just ran out on my last bowl, but I don't use it at all on maple, ash, etc..

I find it takes a lot longer to dry than does Watco, etc. but I do like the results. I have not yet buffed it out as Ron has.
