My Homage to Jennifer

Ben Aragon

>This piece is inspired by the work Ive seen Jennifer@Indy.USA post on WC. Jennifer I really like your work and where it is going, keep expanding your ideas. This piece is Mulberry, 6 diameter and 3-1/2 tall, with a pyrography texture and, Deft finish. This is the first pyrography work I have done, its a lot of fun and Jennifer makes it look easy. Ive been wood turning on and off for the past two years and I have imitated several different styles and I have developed many new skills in the quest to find my own style. Ill keep practicing.

Best Wishes,

Ben

I like it, but then, I love Molly's. Brings back memories of some of our recent long threads as well.

kudos

>Congratulations to you on your willingness to try new and different techniques. I've been hesistant to give burning a try only because there are so many folks around here that are really good at it. You're more brave than me, and I'm sure if you keep it up, in no time you'll be closer and closer to the kind of results that you admire in Molly's work, even though you called her Jennifer.

I'm sure you complimented both of them by mixing up their names, actually.

Looking forward to seeing your next attempt!

Homage and Apology to Molly Wilton

Ben Aragon

>Molly,

I'm sorry, you know how it is when you get a name stuck in you head. You can call me whatever you like, how about idiot. It is Molly Wiltons pyrography work that I admire so much, Jennifer I like your work also. I went to a Barbecue today and just got home, you should see the number of emails I received correcting my error, thank you all. The emails I received made it very clear to me that people recognize your work, I love what your doing. I hope you can accept my apology. I feel like such a jerk.

Best Wishes,

Ben

No apology needed!

>I don't mind being mixed up with Jennifer. I take it as a compliment. I'm very flattered you gave the woodburning a try in a similar style. I like your interpretation. Fun isn't it! I hope the emails were gentle. I can't tell you how many times I mix up names, not to mention just plain forgetting them outright. Keep up the burning. I look forward to seeing where you take it, finding your own style.

>Ben....I have to admit....I'm getting a good laugh out of your goof up too. But it's good laughs! I love Molly's work too and she has really inspired me as well.

I think your vessel looks great! I can see a Molly resemblance but I also see your own distinct touch. Very nice piece!
