Curly Ash

Terry Quiram, Roanoke Illinois

>This is a little 6" Ash from a small crotch I found at the log dump. All the bark had fallen off and there were some pretty nasty surface cracks but the ridges told me there was curl in there. Its to bad I can't turn the bowl inside out because the inisde is nicer looking. Sanded to 400, EEE applied and Shellac.

>Hi Terry,

Well I poked in this morning and saw that the pics were missing....but now I see the lovely curly ash! Nice round bottom form. I like it!

I rough turned a couple of the pieces I got from you at Rays and did the DNA soak and am waiting patiently to finish them....can't wait to see what comes of them. Is this bowl from that tree? I love this wood!

This was a single piece that was laying in the middle of the lot where the city of Peoria dumps their logs. I almost passed it up because of the checking. Glad I didn't.
