Delayed Gloat, New chainsaw!

Gary Evans, Tallassee, TN

>A little over a week ago, I broke down and bought the 2nd new chainsaw that I have owned in the last 27 years. I bought the Stihl MS 290 because it was $40 cheaper than the equivalent Husky with a tad more HP.

I have held off on posting about my purchase until I had a chance to test it out. I used it yesterday to break down some of this holly that I got a few weeks ago. This is some dense wood! I am pleased to report that this saw seems to be near perfect for my use. It has good power with the 18" bar, yet is light enough to allow me to make several consecutive cuts without having to set the saw down. I think I'm going to like this one!

>Gary, I bought the 250 with an 18" bar. Figured that was about all an old lady could handle! They are sweet saws. I haven't bogged it down yet and I have cut some pretty big stuff with it. IMHO, you made a good choice.

>Nice gloat Gary, but I'm not sure you have tested the saw well enough and given it a fair test. You need to bring it over and test it on some of the maple I have stacked up out back. :-)

Glad ya got another good one Gary.
