Angle sander

Guy

>Hello, Was wondering about those e-bay specials that look like the Milwaukee close quarter/angle sanders. Are they acceptable? For $20 even if they only last a year would still be cheaper than a Milwaukee and changing bearings. Any opinions or owners comments? Thanks, Guy

>Well I bought one a month ago and so far it is OK. I haven't used it that much though. Maybe someone with more time on one could comment. One thing is that it does seem to get rather warm, I've neve used the Souix so I don't know if that is characteristic of all the angle models.

>Thanks for the info, I haven't had any need as yet to tear this one apart. One thing I do is blow some compressed air into it everytime I use it to help keep the dust out of the bearings. I don't know if it helps, but it makes me feel better.

I have a real Milwaukee I bought at a local pawn shop new for $70, and a clone I bought on-line for $35.

I have used my Milwaukee for a hard 2 years (I frequently blow dust out of the inside). A couple of months ago I had to have the bearings replaced at the local service center. It took 2 months, but was covered under warranty - free. I the mean time, I used the clone. It worked just fine. As previously mentioned, it gets a little hotter, but was otherwise good.

My personnal recommendation is to find any of the numerous Real Milwaukee Close Quarter Drills on Ebay for $65-70. Remember if you buy a clone and it only lasts a month or a year, you will have to buy another, and the two together will equal a real one for $70.

Just my opinion.
