Dust-B-Gone...What a great Product.

Dust-B-Gone...What a great Product.

Mark Kauder. Phenix City, AL

>While at Southern States Symposium, I happened to pick up a couple of Dust-B-Gone dust masks, one for myself and one for my son. The intent was for us to use them while lawn mowing. Both of us have Hay Fever, and I hoped that this would alleviate some of the problem.

However, while doing some sanding in the shop the other day - sanding Canarywood, that usually makes me sneeze something fierce - I used the Dust-B-Gone mask. What a great product!!

Not only did it stop me from having the sneezing fits, but it is the only dust abaiting device that I have ever used the did not have me wanting it off as soon as possible. It was very comfortable, not hot, and did not fog my glasses.

I highly recommend it to any of you.

>I agree, I've been using mine about a month and a half now and I am using it more and more all the time. Sometimes when I do get hot I wet it a bit and that helps also. Nice thing is, it is washable so there should not be a need to replace it. I've washed it about 5 times already.

>I very much appreciate mine, too. I'm surprised no one had jumped in to poo-poo this product yet, as someone always says something like "if it doesn't filter out (insert number) micron dust, you're wasting your time.

I find the Dust-B-Gone very comfortable, easy to maintain, and does a very effective job of preventing turning dust and debris from entering my lungs. I know it doesn't do as good a job as a form fitting, more expensive mask, because I can smell the wood I'm working with, but it keeps my nose itch and sneeze free, and it isn't a pain to wear. And all I have to do is to exhale really hard through my mouth with the mask on to see how much dust it has prevented me from inhaling.

Dust Bee Gone...only to 3 microns *LINK*

>You're right about the comfort of the mask and its use with glasses (and my beard, too). I've been using mine for over a year. Originally bought it to keep from inhaling spores from spalted wood.

However, the more I learn about the amount of, and effects of, dust that's below 3 microns (the rating standard of the mask), the more I'm using a cannister respirator.

I use the Dust-Bee-Gone much of the time I'm in the shop doing anything that involves dust, including turning and cleaning up. However, when I'm stirring up a lot of small microns sanding, I want the most protection I can get and try to remember to put on the respirator.

>I need to wear better protection (powered air mask) when working all day at the lathe but when doing a small job or any general flat work, I use my Dust-B-Gone. I have two: one "in use" and the other one in a bag, nice and clean and sweet smelling. Nothing worse than straping a smelly mask to your nose.

They also make small-sized masks that I have purchased for my kids who have to clean the shop every weekend. They have their poor heads down near the largest reservior of dust, (the floor and table tops) so it is the least I can do for them.

>I use one also...very little restriction, I wonder sometimes if it is filtering enough? However, working with african blackwood recently, the outside is black, the inside is clean....
