>This is turned from red bud. The needles are long needle pine. Now that I have figured out how to do the needles I am going to do a bigger pot.

. We have a turner in the Bucks Turners group that has made quite a habit of stitching up cracked bowls, hollowforms, anything with a crack, with boot stitching. He applies a bit of super glue to the end of the stitching to form a needle from the chord tip. He's done some wonderful pieces. Most are probably turned down to at most 1/16" before going in for surgery. Always interesting to see what he'll bring next to the meetings.

At a recent turner meeting, someone brought a hollowform with a zipper glued on to seal a crack as a joke for Norris. Norris seemed to think it was taking the easy way out since he had about 24 hours of stitching into his latest piece and was about half way done.

I'll mention the pine needles to him at the next meeting.
