How much $ for drawer pulls

Mitch from NYC

>I'm usually on the hand tool side but wanted to ask you turners about some drawer pulls that someone is going to make for me. They will be a Shaker-style pull out of rosewood or cocobolo -- two of one size and three of a slightly smaller size. Does anyone have an idea of how much I should expect to pay for something like this? The guy who is doing it is a friend of a friend and I'm sure won't gouge me (pun intended). I just want to know a ballpark price.

Thanks!

Mitch

>For a one time thing like this I would think if you supplied the wood a couple pen size blanks extra should be sufficient. If he turns for a profession then either part or fulltime that might be another story.

Can't see a friend charging for something like this...

>Since this is a "friend of the friend", I would offer $5 each (he supplies the wood) and hope he would rather have "a new friend" so that he can get some of your cut-offs. Five bucks may sound like too much but you are asking for a short run of custom handles in exotic woods. Have you seen the cost of nice-looking handles at Home Depot? A bargin at $25 actually.
