>Ruth arrived yesterday and spent the night on her way home. We really did have a good visit. Spent some time in the shop where she helped me with my skew technique which is verrrrrry weak but much better after her instruction. We talked a lot and shared some good food.
Ruth is really an awesome person. If you get a chance to meet her, take advantage of it.
Any women who works wood can't be all bad. That includes Barbara. The Jury is still out on some men but most are OK as long as they know which end of a board goes up. Wait a minute. Which end does go up?
>Thank you all for the compliments but, my goodness, I'm not all that special, seriously!
Barbara is an equally awesome person and I'm so happy we finally got to meet.
As we've all said many times before, have you ever met a turner you didn't like? or one that didn't want to share wood or ideas or techniques or just plain good conversation? I sure haven't. You are all super!
>Special, I mean!! Couldn't meet a nicer lady. I envy your meeting Barbara. Hope you're at KC Barbara, so we can finally meet too. There are some very terrific women turners. One of the things I like about turning so much is playing with the boys. I've always been this way. Generally speaking I'd choose a group of men to socialize with over a group a women any day, but I have to say the women I meet in this group are just as fun as any of the guys. We must be a unique bunch.
I am looking forward to meeting you too Molly but it won't be at KC. I don't plan on attending. I already will be away too much this summer and KC is just a ltttle too far.
