>Do any of you use this for a finish? About 10 years ago I had a couple of gallons given to me. I repacked it in to glass jars and stored it in a dark cool storage cabinet and forgot about it till the other day.

Does it darken the wood? Is it a satin or gloss type of finish? How many coats? Time between coats? I have read japan drier can be added to speed up drying.

Any info is appreciated.

>I use boiled linseed oil, I am not sure what polymerized oil is, but I do now that linseed oil will not dry, it is always wet and tacky to the touch..I mix mine with mineral spirits and apply to both scrolled and turned work, just apply several 6-7 coats, with light sanding between coats..the japan dryer might be being added to make the linseed oil harden...Dennis
