Told you so....

>At the SSS a segmented vase by Mark Kauder took the prize for the most expensive item auctioned last Saturday night. Remember me telling you a few months ago to buy a M.K. piece while you could still afford it? Too late now. Now we have to find a new emerging artist! I love it when I can say: "Told you so!"

>Molly,

I don't remember exactly what it went for, but it was well over $400. Could have gone close to $500.

It's no wonder. Mark's joints are impeccable, his sense of organization and design are exquisite. His forms are near perfect and his finishes are enviable. T.D. is correct. If you didn't buy one from Mark about a year ago, you may never be able to afford one. I've not seen anybody doing any better with segmented work and I've been to a bunch of the regional symposiums.

By the way, I wonder if your ears were burning over the weekend? Ruth Niles and I spent some time talking about you. I even ended up with one of your tee shirts!
