IMHO I like what you did here and all I would have done was mirror the outside rim on the inside, i.e continue the confetti inside and burn a line like the outside line. For me, the wave carving on top would look good either plain or if you burne in some wave texture and colored it blue.

That was actually going to be the way I extended my effort....I thought that bringing the confetti onto the inside of the rim and then just sprinkling it around the bottom of the inside of the bowl might be kind of neat... I even thought about doing it after the carving....but I think it would have been too difficult on the curves....but thanks for you brutal (mildly brutal) critique. I DO appreciate it!
