>I am thinking of purchasing a coring system to use on a Delta 46-715 3/4HP lathe. I know there are a few different systems available and would like to hear users thoughts of them.
Suggestions, thoughts are appreciated.

>I have the McNaughton system and like it. Takes a bit of learning. Got to set it up so that the cutter is just below center and it is good to get the RPM's up to about 700 to 800.
The system is very versatile and will allow you to make many different cuts, which can translate into mistakes. I am playing with a piece of Plexiglas I stick in the chuck before I mount the blank. Then I set up the cutter and run it under the clear plastic. Now I know the cutter's path and know I won't be cutting out the side or cutting too shallow. A practice or dry run with the lathe off. Once I have the setup made, I mount the blank and it goes well and quickly.
