>my trusty and OLD finepix 1400 finally died, replaced by a finepix a330. although still a simplistic dc, it's an upgrade from the old one with many more pixels that now display imperfections that my old eyes failed to see.

the first photo: a carob natural-edge piece with carved legs (14"x8"x12"). The colors appear a bit washed out on my laptop screen.

any photo advice?

>white balance was set to tungsten ... and indexed the ev compensation ... in photoshop (PS) this appeared as the best overall exposure -- and any PS auto adjustments produced crazy results.

wondering how this camera read exposure?

and does any one know how PS might use the camera-generated exposure data?

>Hi e,

I don't know much about digital cameras, but on my monitor the background appears to have a yellow/green cast and the foreground is a bit on the red side. Would this be any closer?

>e, what an absolutely georgous piece!

Laptop screens are not yet up to snuff (IMHO) for true color. Wish I had the piece in front of me to compare, but it looks really good on my monitor.

Did I say I really like that piece? I really, really like it!

>Ooola! E, this is beautiful! I love the three point foot on this one. I don't think I've ever seen a natural edge bowl done with this foot, but I love it.

Very lovely.

maybe you want to play with slightly more exposure, but the pics are good as they are.

The link below is the best source I know for digital camera info. They don't always review the cheaper consumer cameras, but you could ask questions about the exposure (or anything else) on the Fuji Talk forum.

What do you want to do in PS with the embedded EXIF data?
