>Thanks to everyone for the help. I use the 1x8tpi from ace hardware on my Jet. I was helping a friend that does not have a computer(of all things). He turns on a Nova Lathe and needs the 1-1/4 x 8tpi nuts. I placed the order last night from McMasters. The 5 pack was shipped this morning.

>The face of a few of them wasn't square to the threads, and I had to true up the face before welding the washer to the nut so that the plate wouldn't have a lot of wobble in it after welding. I also trued the other face of the nut and put a counterbore in it so it would snug up tight against the shoulder of the lathe spindle without using a spacer washer. My spindle has a short full diameter section of unthreaded spindle for which attachments must have clearance. By the way, the 4" diameter x 1/2" thick washers with the 1 3/8" hole in them make a great faceplate when welded to the nuts. Order them at the same time and save shipping.
