green wood crotches
Jim D.
>I have been turning for quite a while, but mostly kiln dried wood or stone. Met the owner of a tree cutting co. this morning and was told I can get wood from his stock. He also says he finds a fair amount of cherry burl. I will be selecting green logs to cut up into blanks. He has hickory, cherry, locust, poplar and black walnut in the yard right now.
My question is what is the best way to cut up a crotch (Y) to get the most interesting bowl blanks?
Any help is appreciated.
