What I ended up with

Carole in VA

>Got to regrind a scraper or gouge I guess to be able to get the radius on the inside curve. Never could seem to make the smooth transition from sidewall to bottom. Kept getting catches...anymore and I would have been thru the bottom to turn them out so I quit. Will practice, practice, practice on some roadkill (after my hands and arms have relaxed!LOL)

>The bowl looks great!

You have found out what all turners find out sooner or later. Getting the transition from the side to the bottom is harder than it looks. As soon as you get that down you will be on your way to lotts of great bowls.

>Lovely Carole, you chose a difficult form for your first one. It turned out very nicely indeed. You'll get the hang of the transition point soon, keep at it.
