>Well, Oneway has the 13" knives backordered and so does Craft Supply. Anyone know of someone that might actually have something in stock? I like the knife support as you cut with this system. Is there something else out there just as good or better? Would like to get it ordered today if possible. have some BIG blanks I'd like to work on this weekend. Thanks.
>Consider the McNaughton System. The learning curve is a bit tough. My sugestion would be to get help using it and this will expedite your learning. It is a lot more versatile than other coring systems as it is not fixed to a specific curve. If there is no one to help you get the video.
You need to cut at 600 rpm or so and go slow.
Do not try to hog it out. As you progress to the center with the tool do a little in and out to clear the chips. Push lightly inward on the end of the handle. Start on green wood.
>You could call Woodcraft to see if one of their stores has a set in stock. Packard list them in their catalog. Highland Hardware might have a set.
You will really like the Oneway system. It is very easy to use and at least as versatile as the McNaughten system (you can use the big knife on smaller bowls to get a different profile).
A more immediate option might be to borrow someone's system for the weekend. I know I don't use mine every weekend.
There are a series of videos you can download from the Oneway site (for free) on how to use the coring system and how to sharpen the cutter.
