Captive or Armbrace hollowers?

Round & Round

>Hello, almost pushed the button on the Don Pencil Scorpion/Stinger set, but thought I'd check here first. New at hollowing tools. Would a captive system be more user friendly and versatile than the Scorpion? If so, what's a good system for around $300-$400? Need to get one ordered today so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

>I have both the Jamieson system (captive) and the Don Pencil arm brace. I use the arm brace all the time and use the Jamieson system only on special situations (e.g., very deep vessels). The captive system is easier on the body but personally, I have far less "feel" as to where the tool tip is inside the vessel than I do with the arm brace.

Get the Pencil arm brace first and then get the captive system is a vessel requires it. Alternatively, the captive system would be better if you are suffering from arthritis or bursitus in the shoulders and/or arms.

Please post or e-mail me when you get the set. I would love to hear about your experience.

How much is the whole system?

Thanks
