>Sometimes i see bowls made from burl, where the nobs and pointed growths are left "au natural." On the little bit of maple burl I have obtained this wood (the wood itself not the nobs, etc.)is not really very smooth. How is the outside of a burl sanded? All my green bananas would turn black and shrivel away before I got all those crevices and peaks sanded smooth if I did it by hand.
