Is it me. or the gouge

Ken DeMarco

>Just got a P&N 3/8" gouge, while sharpening it this is what I ran into. As the metal gets thin near the tip it just crumbles away. Using a Wolverine jig on a Woodcraft slowspeed grinder. I have not had this problem with any other tools

Thanks

>I'm guessing you have a defective tool. I don't know if you could produce that much heat with a slo-speed grinder and a white wheel.......even if you tried.

>Hi Ken,

Looks like a bad batch of gouges slipped out. I would try to contact whoever you bought it from for a replacement.
