>Hi Sam. I like my critiques raw and honest, too.

Nice turning. The form looks to be very good inside and out. I think a darker background might show more detail and make a valid critique a bit easier. Grey always works well for me.

I think the burned grooves are a little in conflict with the ambrosia tracks. Bowls from woods with this much character usually don't benefit from additional detail. The grooves look well done, but I don't know that they fit the piece. Additionally, grooves like this look great when done in threes.

Not much more that I'd wish to alter on this piece. It looks very nice. Please remember that everyone's critique reflects their own work, and we all have our own styles.

>Very nice work, I cant do as nice oa this but I dont like the burns on this one.

THe burl I thought that the single line was nice, but the bowl seemed a bit thick.

Very nice work and beautiful peices of wood.

>Hi Sam,

I would omit the lines on this bowl also. I too think this is a gorgeous, figured bowl with great finnish and form. I think the lines distract a little from it cutting across the spalt lines. You have shown two very nice bowls today.

Thanks for posting.

>Thanks Mike, I'll try the grey backdrop. Do you use fabric or paper? Any preferance on the texture of the material; ie, lots of texture or very smooth?

Thanks,

Sam

>That's what I'm thinking. either omit the lines or at least reduce the number.

Thanks,
